This exceptional medical graphic includes two medical illustrations pertaining to spinal pain management injections, used after a traumatic low back injury.  The first illustration is a lateral (sagittal) view of a normal lumbar spine and sacrum. The second illustration provides a visual of a needle performing an epidural injection in the lower lumbar spine.  The difference between this image and the previous one is that the inset image is zoomed out, allowing the viewer to realize this injection is happening at the lumbosacral joint (L5-S1).
